My weird, strange crush on Nurse Pilbow

Mimi Sarkisian; did she even speak in the movie? I can’t remember. But my eyes were always drawn to her, sitting there ever so quietly, observing the insanity -- McMurphy center stage -- with a bizarre mix of contempt, curiosity and, dare I say, fetish. Is it wrong of me to fantasize that I’m a mental patient in a psycho ward with her as my nurse, flashing in my direction the faintest looks of come-hither?

  1. It's not weird at all, she's hot. Love the white nylons too

  2. It can't possibly be weird. Me too!

"It's medicine; it's good for you."

    "Don't get upset Mr. McMurphy."

Those are the only lines I remember.

  3. She's got modern day good looks for a 70's chick. Actually, she kinda looks Latin to me. Me gusta Latinas, though! Btw, I googled the name "Sarkisian" (Yeah, yeah, no life) and it turned out to be Armenian. (Like the Kardashians!) Of course they all look like Latinas, too...

  4. Nurse Pilbow ♥
I bought the dvd and I also can't keep my eyes of her.
Sitting there with her beautiful nylon legs crossed.
Alas, she only appeared in 2 movies.

    Also Danny DeVito with hair!

  5. I can't keep my eyes off her, either. Just saw the movie again last night and looked at her and nothing else whenever she was on screen. She's yummy.

  6. Except for one other "role," Cuckoo's Nest was all she did

  8. Yep Yep Yep......same fantasy. She looked just scared enough for me to wanna protect her. You just knew that when she got back to the apartment, where she helped raise her three younger brothers and sisters, at the end of her shift, that she pored over the help wanted ads.

  10. My Dad had this movie on VHS when I was a kid. I'm watching the movie on SKY tonite & I'm recalling how hot this cute, dark little lady is in this film. Such a minimal role, but still having an affect 41yrs later.

  12. I'm just watching this movie for the first time as I write. I feel bad for their mental condition... Anyways, this cute n hot nurse, I thought she was latina like my gf. Not fair that she was not given enough lines in the movie. I could imagine a flirting scene here and there with a patient. Hope she is doing well. ... Javier Escudero...

  17. she is beautiful.. why she got only two movies! is that because of her height!! God

  18. Her eyes spoke more than her character! Such an outstanding beauty, pleasing souls decades later. I know she might not look the same ever, but the way she looked...made her immortal in the eyes of beholder. Mimi...Bless your soul, you're astounding...

  19. Yes, just watched the movie today and looked up her name immediately after. She seems really quiet, but I sense a hint of fiery passion beneath that shyness

  23. Look at the movie timeline. She (the Nurse Pilbow character) left NASA ("The Right Stuff") in 1963, at the end of the Mercury program. "Cuckoo's Nest" takes place in 1963. Granted, a step down from working with astronauts, but name another actor from two entirely separate unrelated movies that can match up roles like this (Quiet unassuming nurse dealing with unstable elements like astronauts or mental patients). Thank you Mimi, and bravo. Medication Time!

  24. I just watched this great film today—for the first time in about 20 years.

When I saw Mimi's last name, I thought, "Hmmmmm, I wonder if she might be Cher's sister . . . because both of them have the last name of Sarkisian.

But I don't think that they are related.

  25. Happy to see I am not the only one that has a crush on her.Loved her big and innocent eyes.I was hopping she would have a bigger part in the movie (she had a total 2-3 lines, if I am not wrong). Also, sad to see she didnt have an overall "great" acting career.Because , according to Google, she only played in two movies without having any big role.

  26. Forgot to add, I also liked her body.So hot in that nurse suit lol.

  27. I thought she was Greek i was close...

  28. I fully understand. She does a great job of acting in very subtle ways that make up for her lack of speaking roles. I most remember the scene where Jack Nickolson gets shock treatment and when he returns he comments about how he is ready to "light up like a pinball machine" the next girl he sleeps with. The reaction of Nurse Ratchet is obvious disgust but take a close look at Nurse Pilbow, you can see she is both disgusted but also intrigued, as if for half a second she actually daydreamed about what it would be like to have sex with him, before catching herself in that thought. An absolutely great performance that suited the character well. I wish we would have had more chances to see her in other major roles.

  33. What I think happened when billy died
Pilbow went to an alone crying billy and hugged him kissed him on the cheek and he says thank you and slits his own throat

  34. I too noticed her rather quickly in the movie and she is very sexy. I’ve always been attracted to that type of look. I’m an American white boy who married a Persian girl. She is very sexy. She’s the type of lady that never needs to wear makeup and she still looks real sexy.

  35. She was drawn several times in the MAD magazine satire of the film, and referred to as Nurse Pillow.

  36. I love how Turkle (Scatman) was hitting on her in one scene. Can't blame him. He also tried to get Rose. That's my boy.

  37. Oh what a delight hear other guys responding the same way. I watch the movie at the Academy Museum last week on the big screen. It is a great movie. It holds out really well filled with astounding performances. Of course Louise Fletcher and Jack Nicholson are great. But I couldn’t help watching Nurse Pilbo every time she was on the screen. She is magnetic. I love her body. She looks so trim and fit. I love that small breasted tomboy look.

  39. I am not the only one by far, I see. Absolutely stunning, is Mimi Sarkasian as Nurse Pilbow. Those eyes. There's something about the unchanging expression that makes me want to know what's going on inside.
